On Thursday, April 16, developer Kraken Express took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that Windrose, their first-ever game, a PvE survival adventure set in the Age of Piracy, has sold more than 500,000 copies in the first 48 hours since launch.

For players who don’t know, Windrose, previously known as Crosswind, is one of the most wishlisted games on Steam and launched in early access on Tuesday, April 14.

The game is currently at 88% Positive Reviews on Steam, with a peak of 97,981 concurrent players.

While some players may see the 500,000 copies sold as a good but not great number, I would like to point out that the game managed to reach that figure on working days.

Given the positive trajectory and the fact that Windrose is a great game, it will come as no surprise that the game hits a new peak in concurrent players during its first weekend.

That being said, the game will receive a hotfix this Friday, April 17, addressing some bugs and issues that require immediate attention.
