Most players don’t even notice it or care about it until they see a warning sign that says, ‘Near Silk Limit,’ raising the question of what it means.

What does ‘Near Silk Limit’ mean in Marathon?
Silk is nothing but the Reward Pass currency in Bungie’s Marathon that comes with a limit of 140 with an overflow limit of 60.
Whenever you get past the 100 number or so, you will get a warning that ‘Near Silk Limit.’
You will still be able to accumulate Silk up until it hits the 200 Silk mark. After that, even if you earn Silk, it will be lost and not add up.
In short, you must use it before it hits the upper limit. And that is why the warning keeps appearing in the lobby menu.

How to get and use Silk in Marathon
You get 10 Silk whenever you level up your Season Level. And as for Season Level, you may already know, you can level it up by earning EXP earned through runs.
You start the game with Level 1. When you reach Level 2, you get 10 Silk. Level 3, another 10, making it 20 Silk and so on.
To use Silk, head to the Reward Pass menu. Select the Seasonal Premium Rewards option.
As you can see, each item in the Reward Pass has a Silk cost attached to it.
Claim them using Silk.
Note
Reward Pass in Marathon is permanent. Once you buy one, you can take your time to acquire enough Silk to collect all the rewards. There’s no time limit.
