Don’t know how to fix the Code: Leaf “unable to connect” error in Apex Legends? I’ve got you covered.
Apex Legends is a live-service game, and as a result, it suffers from a plethora of network-related and other errors, the Code: Leaf, infamously known as “unable to connect,” being one of them.
If you ask me, it is one of the most irritating errors, especially if you are playing with your friends, as the game crashes for one, while others are still able to load in a match.
But thankfully, there are workarounds and fixes for it. I have shared the ones that worked for me in the past and recently, below, while also explaining the error code in detail.
Apex Legends Code: Leaf unable to connect error explained

Code: Leaf “unable to connect” is a server timeout error that triggers during matchmaking in Apex Legends, which means that your client lost connection to the game servers.
Now, this can happen for multiple reasons, but most of the time it is due to players using VPNs, game servers being down or experiencing issues, or an issue with your internet connection.

The biggest issue this error causes is that while one player’s game crashes due to the Code: Leaf error, others on the team can still play.
To put it another way, let’s assume you are playing the game with your friends. When you matchmake, one of you will get the error while the others get into the match.
How to fix the unable to connect Code: Leaf error in Apex Legends

You can fix the “Code: Leaf unable to connect” error by simply restarting the game, or by heading back to the main menu and then joining a lobby or starting matchmaking.
Of course, whenever you encounter an error, you should first check the Apex Legends server status and whether your internet connection is working properly.
If both are good, only then should you go ahead with the workarounds. That said, here are a few other things that you can try:
Disable VPN and such apps and settings
Using a VPN can sometimes mess with your Apex Legends client’s connection to the game servers. Thus, causing the issue. So if you are using a VPN, try disabling it.
Switching to a different data centre
If you are repeatedly getting the “unable to connect” error, switching the Data Centre from the main menu also helps fix it.
Power cycle your Modem or Router
If you are still getting the Code: Leaf error, try power-cycling your modem/router by removing the power cable, waiting about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
If you are playing the game on consoles, make sure to power cycle your console too.
Changing your DNS
You can also try setting your IPv4 DNS settings to either 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.
That sums up everything you need to know about Apex Legends Code: Leaf error and how to fix it.
