On Tuesday, March 17, the official website for Sekiro: No Defeat, an anime adaptation of FromSoftware’s masterpiece video game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, released a new trailer along with some key details, while giving us a better look at the iconic characters like Emma, Genichiro, Owl, Isshin and others.
On top of that, we also got the official announcement for a Japan-exclusive theatrical release for the Sekiro: No Defeat anime, happening later this year.
That said, the project is headed by anime Director, Kenichi Kutsuna, who has worked on almost every major anime in one way or another, with the Studio being Qzil.la.
Shunsuke Fukui will serve as the Deputy Director, with Kaito Moki as Chief Animation Director and Takashi Mukoda as Action Animation Director.
As for the script, it is being handled by Takuya Satou, with Takahiro Kishida handling character designs and Shuta Hasunuma on music.
The theme song for Sekiro: No Defeat is “Blu” by the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, a popular song that debuted in his 2015 album “The Best of Playing the Orchestra 2014.”
The original voice actors from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice are returning to voice their respective characters in the anime adaptation, like:
- Daisuke Namikawa as Wolf
- Miyuki Satou as Kuro/The Divine Heir
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro Ashina
Along with the above VAs who were revealed with the first teaser trailer, five more are reprising their roles in the anime. These are:
- Jin Urayama as Busshi
- Shizuka Ito as Ema
- Akimitsu Takase as Hanbe
- Takaya Hashi as Fukuro
- Tetsuo Kaneo as Isshin Ashina
Sekiro: No Defeat anime is set for a 2026 release, with the global streaming partner being Crunchyroll.
