My top picks!

The Summer + Monsoon season is currently in full swing, and while most are still trying to adapt to the weather changes, we, as anime fans, are more worried about which anime to enjoy right now.

Because there is no level of “uncomfortability” that a good anime cannot fix. This also includes the bros who lost that “not so important” person who seemed important.

So, with that said, here are some of the anime I am already watching, along with two top picks I will watch next.

Best anime to watch right now

Here are some of my top picks for anime that you can watch right now:

Note

I forgot to list ‘Sparks of Tomorrow.’

Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You

Spending some quality time with a beautiful woman, while smoking a cigarette. Well! That is what this anime is.

Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You has been one of the anime I have been waiting for a long time. Now that it is airing, it is my top pick to watch, and I am really enjoying it so far.

As for the premise, it goes like this:

Sasaki is an overworked salaryman drifting through the corporate grind, sustained by cigarettes and the cheerful service and smile of Yamada, the clerk at his favorite supermarket.

But one night after a grueling shift, he arrives late to find Yamada nowhere to be seen. With nowhere left to smoke, his spirits sink—until a pierced young woman calls out to him: “You can smoke here.”

Where to watch: Netflix, Crunchyroll, SonyLiv (via Crunchyroll), Amazon Prime Video (via Crunchyroll)

Black Torch

Black Torch is an action anime I didn’t even know about until I saw edits of it on Instagram, followed by a few good ones on YouTube Shorts.

The action choreography, the animation, the characters, everything is top-notch, with a story that made me eager to learn more about it, along with its world and settings.

At the time of writing, the anime had only two episodes out, and I am already hooked, making Black Torch one of my recommendations.

As for the anime premise, here’s a look at it:

Jiro Azuma comes from a ninja lineage and was trained by his grandfather in shinobi arts. He can communicate with animals. His life changes dramatically after meeting an injured black cat named Rago in the forest.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm

Hiromu Arakawa’s next work, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, is finally being animated and is a top-quality supernatural action anime with siblings involved, just like the massive hit, Full Metal Alchemist, that you should be watching if you haven’t yet.

Here’s the synopsis:

Yuru, a young hunter who lives in a small village deep in the mountains, hunts wild game and leads a humble life with Asa, his younger twin sister.

Their peaceful lives are torn apart when a dragon’s roar echoes across the sky. What secrets lurk within their village?

What fate awaits them? Enter a breathtaking mystical fantasy as exciting Daemon battles intertwine with the mysterious and supernatural.

Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia

Another great anime to watch right now is A Witch in Mongolia!!

After losing her mother and her homeland, Sitara’s despair transforms into determination with the power of knowledge.

New possibilities unfold when a family of scholars takes her in, deepening her education. Meanwhile, Genghis Khan’s Mongol Empire conquers nation after nation, nearing Sitara’s new home.

After the Fourth Prince of the empire takes her captive, a flame of revenge is ignited.

The Villager of Level 999

If you enjoy a weak hero turned overpowered, like me, you will like The Villager of Level 999.

Here’s the setting:

Monsters overtook 80% of the world, and people in Hexaldoria received Classes at birth. Kouji Kagami, a Villager—the weakest Class—reached the unprecedented Level 999. When he met the Demon King’s daughter, everything changed.

That sums up the five great anime that you can watch right now.
