On Thursday, Jan 8, NetEase Games and developer Joker Studio revealed a brand new gameplay trailer for their upcoming open-world ocean-fantasy RPG, Sea of Remnants, offering a tantalizing look at the different activities, open world exploration, sea monster battles, mini-games and much more, while also announcing the “Wanderer Test.”
The Wanderer Test is the game’s first Closed Alpha Test on PC that begins on Feb 5th and will last for a week, until Feb 12th.
While the game is also releasing on PlayStation later this year, along with PC via Steam, the Closed Alpha Test is limited to PC players.
That said, you can register for the Closed Alpha Test, starting today, until Jan 23rd, by:
- Following the official Sea of Remnants X account and engaging with the trailer post
- By joining the official Sea of Remnants Discord and completing the application questionnaire
The Closed Alpha Test version of Sea of Remnants will be available in English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese languages.
Since the seats are limited, it is best to fill up the questionnaire at the earliest. Otherwise, you may have to engage with the social posts to win an entry through the official giveaways.
Once you are selected for the test, like always, you will get a notification email along with the test access.
Now, for players who don’t know, in Sea of Remnants, you play as a puppetfolk sailor adrift without memories.
Your goal is to navigate treacherous seas, battle bizarre monsters, customize your fleet, and form bonds with over 300+ companions while shaping the ever-evolving pirate city of Orbtopia through your choices.

Sea of Remnants arrives later this year on PC via Steam and on PlayStation platforms.
