On Tuesday, Feb 17, Bethesda officially revealed the release date for the next major Season for their action-RPG MMO, Fallout 76, which coincides with The Backwoods update, introducing one of the most sought after Cryptid to the game, the Bigfoot, whilst introducing balance changes and other such things.
Season 24: Cryptids from Beyond the Cosmos and The Backwoods update for Fallout 76 drops on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
On the same day, we are also getting the Bigfoot’s Bash event that will run through March 10.
From March 10-24, the Invaders From Beyond event will go live with Caps-A-Plenty and Minerva’s Big Sale running from March 12-16.
That is not it, from March 19-23, we will get Double Score, Double Mutation and Murgmrgh’s Special Pick events.
There’s no doubt that Fallout 76 has been getting more love from Bethesda, especially after the launch of the Fallout Season 2 TV series that massively boosted the game’s player count across all platforms.
Which is good, because as a player myself, while some are targeting Bethesda for not releasing the next Fallout game or a Fallout 3 Remake, instead of focusing on Fallout 76, I feel quite the opposite.
That said, other than Bigfoot and the host of new and returning events, the new season and the Backwoods update in general will introduce:
- An overhaul to armor statistics
- A re-work of events
- World loot and container improvements
- Performance upgrades
- Changes to base rewards for Activities and Public Events
- Power Armor changes
- Legendary Mods changes
- Weapon updates and more!
The Q2 Roadmap for Fallout 76 is even more stacked with Season 25 kicking off in June
In April, we will be getting the Rip Darling: Weapons Expert Extraordinaire! mini season, in May, we will get the Plight of the Beezlebub update, and in June, we will get another major content addition along with the next season.
Each month is packed with several new and returning events along with free content updates.
