The rumoured Resident Evil Remake, getting announced later this year, is reportedly Resident Evil – Code: Veronica and not Resident Evil 5.
On Sunday, January 18, the reliable leaker and insider, Dusk Golem, took it to X (formerly Twitter) to shut down a rumour going around Resident Evil 5 Remake being unveiled later this year.
According to him, “There is NOT a Resident Evil 5 Remake that’s going to be announced this year.”
In his tweet, he continued, “Instead, later this year a RE Remake that starts with “(C)” & ends “(ode Veronica)” is going to be announced, I promise you.”
In case you missed it, on Thursday, January 15, Eva La Dare, the motion capture actress who played the role of Sheva Alomar, Chris’s companion, in Resident Evil 5, posted a Tweet related to the Resident Evil 30th Anniversary, which falls in March, later this year.
In the Tweet, she wrote, “Got a few fun things lined up for March,” with a Resident Evil 30th Anniversary hashtag.
Since then, the rumour of a possible Resident Evil 5 Remake being announced later this year by Capcom began to spread.
So far, Capcom has released remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4. All of them have been a massive hit, pushing Capcom towards remaking more of their older games.
Now, for people who don’t remember, back in 2022, in an interview with NoisyPixel, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the producer of Resident Evil 4, said that if an opportunity comes, he may work on Code Veronica Remake.
