While the game is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 release on Oct. 3, later this year, the Steam Deck version is still in question. Or, should I say, was?
During gamescom 2025, many creators got their hands on the Lenovo Legion Go S running Borderlands 4 at max settings, 4k 120 fps via GeForce Now on Steam OS.
Followed by that, we got some unverified videos showcasing Borderlands 4 running on a Steam Deck through GeForce Now.
So, for players who were wondering whether they would be able to play Borderlands 4 on their Steam Deck, the answer is yes.
You can play it through GeForce Now, and also natively, as while Gearbox has yet to share that Steam Deck verified announcement, based on the current reports and hand-on, the Steam Deck should be able to handle the game.
Plus, we should not forget past Borderlands games did work on the Steam Deck, including Borderlands 3, which performed really well.
That said, you will be able to play Borderlands 4 on your Steam Deck via GeForce Now at max settings.
Yes! There are input lags, but you can avoid that, if you have a good internet connection.
Lastly, even if you don’t want to use GeForce Now, you can always use workarounds and install and play Borderlands 4 on Steam Deck, irrespective of native support.
