Marvel Rivals Season 3 ‘The Abyss Awakens’ is currently underway, and developer NetEase Games has a lot more coming on Aug. 21.
Season 3, which was released on Jul. 11, continues with the introduction of a new game mode, Resource Rumble, a new Klyntar: Throne of Knull map, and an upcoming Ancient Powers Awaken event.
Not only that, but along with the new content additions, we are also getting improvements to the game’s matchmaking and ranking systems and much more!
Resource Rumble game mode
In this new mode, players are tasked to unlock three resource points in any order.
The goal is to hit the target score while controlling points, gathering resources, and rumbling with foes.

Klyntar: Throne of Knull map
The new map, Klyntar: Throne of Knull, is located underground and is connected via the Venom Spire that pierces through the Core and penetrates to the planet’s core.
After the Phoenix rejoined the battlefield, Knull fully awakened. However, because of the lingering Phoenix Force still restraining him, Knull must temporarily stay on the throne to until the Queen in Black can extinguish the Phoenix flames…
Ancient Power Awakens event
On the same date and time as the new game mode, we are also getting a brand new in-game event called the Ancient Powers Awaken.
In this event, players will complete matches to earn EXP and level up to claim epic rewards, including a free costume – Doctor Strange: Old Man Strange and more.
Lastly, Marvel Rivals has implemented Discord’s Social SDK integration, adding features such as a unified friends list, cross-platform chat, Rich Presence, and more to enhance player social experience, along with the matchmaking and ranking system changes.
