Hypixel Studios upcoming sandbox game, Hytale, is not yet even out, and still, the game has sold enough early access copies to cover the next two years of development cost for a team of 50+ developers.

On Jan 12, Simon, Hypixel Studios founder, took it to X (formerly Twitter) to share that they have “officially secured the next two years of development costs through pre-purchases.”

This doesn’t come as a surprise, as in a previous post, Simon talked about how he and his team “expect over 1 million players on the early access release day for Hytale (January 13).”

We don’t have the official sale numbers yet. And since the game is not available on Steam, it is hard to track the estimated sales even through third-party services.

Still, going by Simon’s word, the game has already or is on track to sell more than 1 million copies by launch.

And if that is the case, the revenue generated is more than enough to cover the next two years of development costs, including the paychecks of the 50+ devs working on the game.

For players who don’t know, Hytale currently offers three editions: Standard priced at $19.99, Supporter costing $34.99 and the most premium offering, Cursebreaker priced at $69.99.

Hytale arrives on PC on Tuesday, January 13th at 3 pm GMT. You can download the game via the dedicated launcher available on the game’s official website.
