Ever Beneath the Waves is a well-hidden side quest that marks the beginning of a great questline, found east of the Sretomorozsk POI in the Voltodlak Tundra sub-region.
In this quest, you help a long-forgotten fae, Chulkaturin, who rewards you with a Precious Chest at the end of the quest.

Where to find the Ever Beneath the Waves quest in Snezhnaya
In Genshin Impact, you can find the Ever Beneath the Waves side quest at the above-marked location in the Voltodlak Tundra sub-region.
Head there and look for the broken ship.
Once you go to the rear end of the ship, the quest will auto-trigger.
Note
While I triggered the quest while being on the rear part of the ship, I think you can simply head to the frozen house behind the ship. And the quest will still trigger. For the sake of the guide, I will stick to what I did throughout the quest.
Ever Beneath the Waves quest full walkthrough
The Ever Beneath the Waves side quest has the following objectives:
- Find the source of the voice
- Clear the brash ice in the area
- Bring the Wooden Cabin to the shore
Find the source of the voice
The source of the voice is located right behind the boat. It’s the huge pile of ice with the iron pipe coming out of it. The one that you see in the above screenshot.
Once you go near it, a conversation between the Traveler and the Voice Beneath the Ice will auto-trigger.
The voice will ask you to “rid the lake of all this brash ice.”
Clear the brash ice in the area.
In this part of the quest, all you have to do is destroy the brash ice around the giant ice using any attack.
You can also destroy the explosive barrels to progress.
Destroy the barrels found around the big ice.
After that, use any attack to break the remaining ice.
Once you destroy enough ice, you will trigger a sort of cutscene, where the ice turns upside down, unveiling the cabin.
Bring the Wooden Cabin to the shore.e
Once the Wooden Cabin is freed, the person inside it asks you to drag it to the shore.
You can do it using the Grapple Construct. Head to the quest marker area and place a Grapple Construct.
On PC, you can press ‘T’ to open the construct menu. Select and place the Grapple Construct.
The house will auto-drag itself to the Grapple you made, provided it is within its range.
After that, move to the next point and make another Grapple. For me, the house this time didn’t drag itself to it, probably because it was out of range.
So what I did was stand on top of the house and take the Grapple from there. Two Grapples and I was able to drag it to the shore.
Once the Wooden Cabin reaches the shore, you will get a lore dump.
And that’s it. The quest will be complete.
The next quest in this questline is The Sunken Ship Sailed Past, Rining No Bells.
