The Path of Riddle is the 16th main quest in the Chapter: To Walk with Two Shadows in the Lord of the Hatred DLC main quests in Diablo 4.
In this quest, players head to Rathma’s hidden abode to find one of the three fragments of the blade required to send Mephisto into the void.
However, the path to the abode is filled with Time-Worn Statue puzzles and a final altar puzzle, required to unlock the barrier holding the dagger hilt.
This walkthrough will cover the quest from start to finish to help players who are stuck.
The Path of Riddle quest walkthrough
To get started with The Path of Riddles quest, head to the above location and enter the Labyrinthine Grove.
Once you are inside, the objective is to “Search the forest.” All you must do is progress ahead until you reach the first Time-Worn Statue.
You can find the Time-Worn Statue at the above player icon location. Once you are near it, you will get the objective to “Inspect the Time-Worn Statue.”
After you do it, you will get the riddle to the first puzzle:
I see all, yet know nothing. All of Sanctuary is beneath me. What am I?
The solution is: Flame of the Mother. Rathma’s riddle is referring to his mother, Lilith.
After you get past the barrier, you get the objective to “Investigate the path forward.”
Defeat the enemies, take the rift, and keep moving ahead until you reach the second statue.
Interact with the second Time-Worn Statue to get the following riddle:
Sometimes I am the light that cast a shadow. Sometimes I am the shadow. Which one am I really?
The solution to the second riddle is: Flame of Both.
Once again, take the rift and follow the path ahead.
The final Time-Worn Statue riddle is:
You cannot escape me. You cannot change me. If you cross this threshold, you shall know what I am.
The solution is: Flame of Fate. As I said earlier, it doesn’t matter as there’s only one brazier. So this one is obvious.
After that, “Enter the Forgotten Hideaway” and progress ahead. You will eventually reach the above room, where you will find the hilt of Lilith’s Blade.
Speak to Lorath.
Now, you must solve the puzzle to “Unlock the piece of Lilith’s blade.”
The puzzle is simple and similar to Rathma’s Puzzle that you encounter in the archives during the A Blade’s Weight quest.
The solution is the inscription written on the nearby stone:
Power born of Hell begets Corruption.
If you extract the keywords, you get:
- Power
- Hell
- Corruption
Now, to solve the puzzle, stand on the pressure plates in front of the braziers in the following order: Dunaxys (Power) -> Abythos (Hell) -> Coruphar (Corruption).
To make things easier, I have marked the correct order in the above screenshot.
Once you remove the barrier, collect Lilith’s blade’s hilt and talk to Lorath.
Head outside and talk to the Hand of Akarat.
Defeat the Hand of Akarat and his demon form to complete the quest.
