In Borderlands 4, there are a few missable trophies associated with side quests that depend on the decision you make during the quest. One such example is the Rift Incompatible achievement tied to the ‘Exit Through the Rift Shop’ side mission.
At the time of writing, there are only 2.6% players on Steam who have unlocked this achievement, and thus, I decided to make a simple guide on this.
How to unlock the Rift Incompatible trophy in Borderlands 4

To unlock the Rift Incompatible achievement, during the ‘Exit Through the Rift Shop’ side mission, when you are given the choice to either “Punch Francis Oddman” or “Shoot Francis Oddman,” choose the Punch option.
Doing so will throw Oddman off the fence as he falls into the rift below.
After that, you can find Oddman’s Resting Place, which I have shared below, to unlock the achievement.
Note
If you choose the Shoot option, you will be locked out of this achievement. However, you can still start a Level 30 character and speedrun through the quest to unlock it.
Borderlands 4 Oddman’s Resting Place location

Oddman’s Resting Place is at the frozen lake at the above marked location in the Windspear sub-region of the Terminus Range region.

Head there, and you will find Oddman frozen to death in the rubble.

Go near him, and the achievement will automatically unlock.
Remember! Oddman will be there only if you choose to punch him at the end of the Exit Through the Rift Shop side mission.

Borderlands 4 Exit Through the Rift Shop side mission walkthrough

You can find the Exit Through the Rift Shop side mission at the above marked location in the Fadefields region.

Head there, and you will find the dead body of an NPC. Interact with it to accept and track the quest.

The quest is simple but has two sections where players can get stuck. I am only going to talk about those. Other objectives are easy to follow and complete.

Talk to Oddman and he will task you to head to an Order facility in the Fadefields region.

Follow the quest marker leading to the facility.

Once you defeat the enemies, you will be tasked to “Gather Machine Parts 0/3.”
The first two parts are out in the open behind the vault door, like a chamber that you see in the above screenshot.
Use melee to open the door and collect the parts.

The second one is also easy to find. It is on the right side of the first one. As you can see in the above screenshot.

The third one is hard to find as there is no quest marker. But only a search area. Head to the above player icon location.

In the lower section of the area, you will find the final part.

Once you have all three parts, head back to Oddman and submit them.
He will open a portal. Take it and free the Prisoners in the Order facility.

You will get the objective to “Find a way out of the lab.” This is the second section where you can get stuck.
To head inside the locked room, you must use the vents.

The vent is on the first floor, where you find the Prison Cells. On the rightend side.
Head inside the room, break the lock and pick up the Eridium Canister.

Head back to the rift and throw the canister on it.

Take the rift back to Oddman’s location. Defeat the Order troops and confront Oddman. At this point, you will get the option to Punch or Shoot that I talked about earlier.
Choose the Punch option for the achievement. Once you make a decision, the quest will end.
That sums up everything you need to know about unlocking the Rift Incompatible achievement in Borderlands 4.
